As summer draws to a close in Central California the coastal fog gradually thins and we see the welcome return of our Left Coast Sun Show deluxe. This is the mouth of the Carmel River as Carmel Valley ends at the Pacific Ocean. Point Lobos is just behind the hill on the left. The City of Carmel is over the hill on the right.
I used 2 Cokin GND Filters together to dampen down the sky/sun, and then used curves to desaturate the red channel where the sun blew it out.
i didn't understand any of the technical side of what you did, but i do love this photo. it's so colourful and happy. whenever i look at the sunset i can never remember what homework i need to do.
